State Bank Of India (SBI) Associate Bank Probationary Officer (PO) Exam Pattern : This Exam have two Phase.
Phase I : Examination consisting Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Immediately after the online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Questions relating to Descriptive Test will be available on computer (Online) and candidates will have to write the answers on the answer sheet (Offline) provided to them on Paper/Pen mode. - Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
- Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Test of Reasoning (High Level)
Papers will be of qualifying in nature. Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks in these papers. The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank. The questions will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi & English. The candidates will have option to answer the questions in Hindi or English(except for test of English Language).
Descriptive Test {50 marks} : The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50marks) will be of “Test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”. The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.
Phase II : Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks) : The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. - English Language : Vocabulary, grammar, synonyms and antonyms, comprehension, sentence formation, error connection, subject verb agreement etc
- Reasoning : This part checks the candidate on reasoning abilities and mental aptitude. So, it is advised that you should prepare both verbal and non-verbal sections. For verbal tasks, you should prepare analogy, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, decision making, Problem on Age Calculation, Arithmetical Reasoning, etc.
- Data Analysis & Interpretation : This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, Data Sufficiency, Permutations, Combinations and Probability, Data Table, Pie-Charts, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, Mixed Graphs, Case Study etc.
- General Awareness, Marketing & Computers : General knowledge questions, you should be familiar with latest happenings, International and National Organizations, important dates, sports, economics news, books and authors, awards and honors, inventions and discoveries, banking, political happenings in the country etc.
- Computers Questions are based on two topics like as hardware and software. The topics will be covered in this section are MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Windows, internet and how to operate well for official use. You can say that just basic knowledge of computers.That contains the following topics operating systems, computer networks, internet, E-commerce, the basic computer architecture, terminology, EFT systems, acronyms and MS Office 2003, 2007.
Eligibility Criteria : Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.
