1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 10th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. The theme of this year’s summit is, ‘BRICS in Africa – collaboration for inclusive growth and shared prosperity in the 4th industrial revolution’.

4. The government gave final approval to the mega merger of Vodafone and Idea Cellular. It will create the country’s largest mobile operator with 35% market share and around 430 million subscribers.
सरकार ने वोडाफोन और आइडिया सेलुलर के बड़े विलय को अंतिम मंजूरी दे दी। इस विलय के बाद बनने वाली कंपनी देश की सबसे बड़ी दूरसंचार सेवा प्रदाता कंपनी होगी जिसकी बाजार हिस्सेदारी 35 प्रतिशत होगी और इसके ग्राहकों की संख्या लगभग 43 करोड़ होगी।

5. President Ram Nath Kovind launched the Chhattisgarh government’s ‘Sanchar Kranti Yojna’. Under this, free smartphones will be distributed to 50 lakh people in the state.

6. Invest India and Business France have signed a MoU to promote investment facilitation and cooperation between startups of India and France.
इन्वेस्ट इंडिया और बिजनेस फ्रांस ने भारत एवं फ्रांस के स्टार्ट अप्स के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने तथा निवेश में सहूलियत के लिए एक सहमति पत्र (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।
7. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has launched a Mobile app ‘Bijli Mitra’ on a pilot basis from Jhalawara, Rajasthan. This app will help farmers to get their defunct transformers replaced within 6 hours of registering a complaint through the app.
राजस्थान के मुख्यमंत्री वसुंधरा राजे ने राजस्थान के झालावाड़ जिले से ‘बिजली मित्र’ मोबाइल ऐप की पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के रूप में शुरुआत की। यह ऐप किसानों को ऐप के माध्यम से शिकायत दर्ज कराने के 6 घंटे के भीतर उनके खराब ट्रांसफार्मर को बदलने में मदद करेगा।
8. Oxigen and Fincare Small Finance Bank signed an agreement to start Branchless Banking services, using Oxigen’s flagship Point of Sale device called the Oxigen Micro ATM Super PoS.

9. Ramachandra Guha has written a book named “Gandhi: The years that changed the world (1914-1948)”. This book will be released in September 2018.
