3. The European Parliament awarded the prestigious Sakharov human rights prize to the beleaguered Venezuelan opposition, calling for a “peaceful transition to democracy” in the crisis-hit country. The prize was awarded to the Venezuelan National Assembly, dominated by opposition parties, and to political prisoners.
यूरोपीय संसद ने संकटों में घिरी वेनेजुएला की विपक्ष को प्रतिष्ठित सखारोव मानवाधिकार पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया है और संकट में घिरे देश में “लोकतंत्र के लिये शांतिपूर्ण परिवर्तन” की मांग की है। यह पुरस्कार वेनेजुएला की नेशनल असेंबली को दिया गया जिस पर विपक्षी दलों और राजनीतिक बंदियों का प्रभुत्व है।

Ebix is a leading international supplier of on-demand software and e-commerce services to the insurance, financial, e-governance and healthcare industries.

प्रख्यात मलयालम लेखक और उपन्यासकार पुनाथिल कुंजाब्दुल्ला का निधन हो गया। वह 77 वर्ष के थे।
9. Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed an agreement with the Government of India for a loan of 6.55 million dollars for Karnataka. This loan will be given to stop the coastal erosion on the western coast of Karnataka.
एशियाई विकास बैंक एडीबी ने भारत सरकार के साथ कर्नाटक के लिए 6.55 करोड़ डालर का ऋण समझौता किया। यह ऋण कर्नाटक के पश्चिमी तटों पर तटीय क्षरण रोकने और उसका रखरखाव करने के लिये दिया जायेगा।
