1- Bulgaria’s Kristalina Georgieva has been selected as the new head of the International Monetary Fund(IMF). The economist succeeds Christine Lagarde for a five-year term from October.She will be the second woman chief of the 189-member IMF.

2-Flipkart Co-founder Binny Bansal has become the youngest alumnus this year to be recognised as a distinguished alumnus by IIT Delhi. He was awarded for his “outstanding contribution made in entrepreneurship”.

3- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with United Nations chief Antonio Guterres and other world leaders, inaugurated the 50 kilowatt Gandhi Solar Park at the headquarters of the UN in New York. 4- Payal Jangid, a 17-year-old campaigner against child labour and child marriage in Rajasthan, was given the Changemaker Award by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the ‘Global Goalkeeper Award’ at the same event for the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign.

6-9th India-China Financial Dialogue was held in New Delhi. A high-level Chinese delegation led by Ms. Zou Jiayi, Vice Minister, Ministry of Finance, China interacted with the Indian delegation led by Atanu Chakraborty, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs on wide-ranging issues of mutual interest. The India-China Financial Dialogue is a mechanism between the two countries with an aim to promote cooperation in the financial sector.
