1- President’s rule has been imposed in Maharashtra. The state legislative assembly has been kept under suspended animation. This follows Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s report to the Centre which stated that the formation of a stable government is impossible in the current situation despite all his efforts.

2- The 25th Kolkata International Film Festival began with the screening of Satyajit Ray-directed ‘Gupi Gayen, Bagha Bayen’ film on 8th November.Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan inaugurated the eight-day festival at a glittering function at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.

3- Mauritius’s incumbent Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth was sworn in for a five-year term after elections in which his coalition consolidated its grip on parliament.Mr Jugnauth’s swearing-in took place at the residence of President Barlen Vyapoory. He proposed a new cabinet of 23 members.

4- The 11th BRICS Summit is being held in Brazil’s capital Brasilia from 13th . BRICS comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The theme of this year’s summit is “Economic Growth for an Innovative Future.”

5- Mexico has given asylum to Bolivia’s former President Evo Morales in the country. He resigned on 10 November 2019 amid mounting pressure from the army and the public following the allegations of disturbances in the election results.
